Status Update of Project PMP

 It's Friday, October 9, 2020.

It's almost 7 PM and I am almost done with my apple flavored beer.

Budget for the upcoming PMP exam is almost on its way, though still not decided on the schedule of this project.

Change on the planned procurement of resources, will procure these in order:

- Prepcast

- PMI Membership

- PMP Exam

Got to study a bit this week the PMBOK, but not by much. Did the PocketPrep for PMP, and it seems fine.

I still need to study some more, but reading the PMBOK helps...I guess.

After almost two years: thinking of a new certification

It has been almost two years since I decided to pursue a certification for the Project Management Professional (PMP), but now I'm aiming for another certifcation. 2019 - DELF A1 (French) and DELE A1 (Spanish) 2020 - PMP 2021 - DELF B1 (French language certification)  2022 - (?!) It's going to be August, and I'm contemplating in getting a Disciplined Agile (DA) certification.  I'm not sure what value will it give my current work life right now. And even the other certifications that I have right now, I'm not sure what value it actually gives me.  Although, I have this personal goal now to make my Spanish at least at par with my French skills as I started with Spanish prior taking French classes. I also still have that ongoing online double Masters from ENEB for Masters in Project Management and Masters in Business Administration. What value will it give? Not sure as well, hahahaha! There are so many things that I should be doing, but I don't want to do them. :/ ...

It's been a week...

It's been a week since...I passed my PMP!!!! Hurray! So, I actually made a "lessons learned" document so that I could post it on Reddit and Discord as those are the two communities that really helped me a lot. Actually, I discovered Discord through a Groupme chat, which I discovered from Reddit. So the Reddit community of r/pmp really helped me a lot on this. And along the way, I inspired someone to just take the plunge and go for the exam! Hurray! So I'm logging it here, what I posted: I am not from the US, but I’m very thankful for this community for helping me pass the PMP! If not for this, I wouldn’t have known all the wonderful resources that would help me pass my PMP on my first try. How I Prepared: Took the Udemy course of Joseph Phillips for my contact hours, as well as learned about the PMP certification and the PMBOK. Used this for my application to sit on the exam. Ricardo Vargas video on Youtube - I used this as my guide for reading the PMBOK. Super helpf...

Slowly losing will

It's quite hard to keep my momentum when I start to wake up and don't feel too motivated to do things. Perhaps I got too high last weekend given it was my birthday, but now I can't even have the strength to push to read either Rita's book or the PMBOK. When there's that loom of uncertainty, I feel like I have to push things aside and try to do a bit of self preservation. Now I'm starting to think whether studying for this is even worth it given the cost. I can feel that with the lessons I have taken so far, and reading the PMBOK gives some form of validation to the things I'm doing at work. Oh but gosh, should I still take this?
